Hi I have experience (corporate service 7.4 to 8.2 migration). In case of MMORPG the project has same detail: good documentation or developer supposed to "learning" dependencies and patterns. Usually it's a long shot (depending of MMORPG). However we could make it more smoothly by set different versions for certain code parts (step by step). Using versions control system (git).
