1) VLOOKUP always treats first column of the data as the lookup field. Down side of this is, if the return column is before the lookup column VLOOKUP is not possible. 2) It takes entire data starting from lookup column until return column as the input. This unnecessarily burdens the Excel by calculating the formula even when there are no changes in those two columns. 3) Return column is a column number treating lookup column as 1 and the subsequent columns in increasing order. If the column is order is changed (cut, insert), since the return column is a number rather than a reference, VLOOKUP fails. INDEX, MATCH is beautiful in many ways. It takles all the above issues. It returns arrays as well. When multiple return columns are needed from a single lookup field, use MATCH separately to get the row number which can be used as an input to INDEX to get return columns avoiding multiple matches. Seems like you forgot to share the google sheets view only link.
