My website, RoboComposer, is a dot com website that uses algorithms to compose music.
I am looking for one or two programmers to help me make some improvements, especially to the COMPOSE page of my website.
My website uses React and D3. If you have those skills that is helpful.
The ideal person will be able to do some work on a daily basis, perhaps a few hours each day.
HOW I PREFER WE WORK
As this is a bedroom start-up company that is self-funded, I am limited in the hourly rate I am able to afford, and therefore I am seeking the best possible hourly rates. For the same reason, I must avoid hours being billed with little or no work being accomplished.
In the past, I hired some developers who began billing hours, but after many hours had been billed, did not have any tangible results to show. From this experience I learned to break development up into small deliverables that can be done in a few hours, and bill all work on a milestone basis.
For each task, I will provide detailed written requirement specifications which may sometimes also include wireframes (sketches), and answer any questions. The developer then determines what they intend to bill to complete the task. Billing for each task can be done by using the UpWork milestone billing type contract, or use an hourly contract and bill for the equivalent hours for the agreed price upon successful completion of the task. In milestone billing, it is important to avoid scope creep. I do this by providing very specific requirements. Any changes to the scope are handled as a subsequent task.
