My ESP32-based sleep-posture monitor is halfway there: the stretch sensor, 3-axis accelerometer and vibration motor are all on a breadboard, yet none of them behave reliably because the wiring is a mess. Getting those connections solid is the first milestone before we tidy the firmware and eventually move on to a small, secure web app. Here is where things stand today • Hardware – ESP32 DevKit on a breadboard – Stretch sensor (analogue) around the chest – MPU-6050 accelerometer (I²C) to detect side / back / stomach – 3 V coin vibration motor for gentle haptic feedback Power rails, pull-ups and signal lines are still loose; the sensors sporadically drop or give nonsense values. Your immediate task is to rebuild the wiring so each component delivers clean, repeatable data and the motor can be driven safely off a GPIO with transistor isolation. A short Fritzing (or similar) diagram plus a photographed final layout will confirm the fix. Once the hardware is stable, I will need the Arduino-IDE firmware refactored into neat modules: • sensor polling at consistent intervals • posture logic (supine timer > 20 s triggers motor pulse) • low-power and Wi-Fi routines separated for clarity Please keep the code ready for OTA updates and documented inline. If you spot opportunities to shave current draw or prepare for a future custom PCB, flag them. Success Criteria 1. All three sensors stream accurate data over Serial Monitor for at least 5 min without dropouts. 2. Motor pulses every time the accelerometer reports supine for > 20 s, stops immediately on side / stomach. 3. Refactored firmware compiles cleanly on Arduino IDE 2.x and is pushed to a private Git repo with comments. 4. Schematic / wiring diagram attached so I can rebuild the prototype independently. After these steps we can open a follow-on phase for a responsive web dashboard (likely React or Vue served from the ESP32 or a small cloud endpoint). For now, let’s get the breadboard solid and the firmware production-ready.

Hi! Your ESP32 DevKit choice is solid for this wearable application - the dual-core architecture and deep sleep capabilities are ideal for sensor fusion with the MPU-6050 and stretch sensor monitoring. However, I noticed the 3V vibration motor will need transistor isolation since ESP32 GPIO maxes at 40mA while these motors typically draw 80-150mA. I recently completed a similar body-worn IoT device using ESP32-C3 with IMU sensor fusion for posture monitoring, where the critical challenge was balancing real-time responsiveness with battery life constraints. The project required custom interrupt-driven state machines and careful power domain management to achieve 12+ hour operation. Implementation Approach: Phase 1: Circuit validation with proper I²C pull-ups (4.7kΩ) and motor driver transistor network, plus breadboard power consumption baseline testing. Phase 2: Firmware architecture using FreeRTOS tasks for sensor sampling, data fusion algorithms for position detection, and interrupt-based wake patterns to minimize active current. Phase 3: Web dashboard integration with optimized JSON data structures and OTA update partition management. Phase 4: Power optimization testing across sleep/wake cycles with real-world wearing scenarios. I'd be happy to discuss the technical architecture and timeline that works best for your development schedule.

Hi, IMHO your first goal should be to have a "stable" HW, no loose wires and no false contacts. If you like I can make a PCB based on your schematics so you have a reliable starting point, on the PCB you can then connect your sensors/actuators. Please beware that 30 days are an estimate since PCB has to be produced and delivered, if you like I can assembly one or more for you and deliver it complete to your address. Please note that delivery expenses to your address and parts will be billed separately. Assuming that you like the proposal do not assign the PJ to me before we have a chat: I want to be 100% sure that I understood your needs exactly. Cheers, Alex. Standard disclaimer: Please beware that the local regulations may require circuit certification (EG CE mark) which I cannot provide, therefore the circuit must be considered a prototype and operated only by competent personnel in an environment that can handle safely any fault and for the purpose it was intended for; moreover High and potentially deadly voltages can be present, in addition mechanical moving parts can be present as well, which requires extra cautions. Toxic fumes can be generated and must be handled with the due diligence.

Best ESP32 PCB & Prototype Debugging Partner ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Hi Ammar, Thanks for sharing the scope clearly. I’ve supported prototype-to-small-batch builds where breadboarded electronics needed reliable wiring, component integration, and functional verification before moving toward production. Your project looks very doable. The goal is simple: rebuild your ESP32-based sleep-posture monitor so sensors and motor deliver clean, repeatable signals, creating a solid hardware foundation for future firmware and web interface development. ✅ How I’ll Help You Succeed 1. Review your current breadboard layout, sensor connections, and power lines to identify instability points. 2. Rewire and organize all components (stretch sensor, MPU-6050, vibration motor) for reliable, dropout-free operation. 3. Provide a clear schematic or Fritzing diagram, along with photos of the final setup for reproducibility. ✅ I’ve delivered many prototype builds where stable sensor integration, attention to signal integrity, and methodical testing were critical for success. ✅ Before I start, one quick thing: Can you share the exact ESP32 DevKit variant and any preferred sensor or wiring conventions you want to maintain? If you share that, we can align quickly and get your sleep monitor hardware working reliably. Best, Prat PCB Must Innovations

I understand the priority: first, stabilize the unreliable hardware, then refactor the firmware. I will start by rebuilding your breadboard with robust connections: implementing proper power distribution, clean analog signal paths for the stretch sensor with filtering, reliable I2C pull-ups for the MPU-6050, and a safe transistor driver circuit for the vibration motor. I will provide a clear Fritzing diagram and photos of the final, organized layout. Once the hardware is validated, I will refactor the Arduino IDE firmware into modular, well-commented code with separate modules for sensor polling (using timers), posture logic, and power management. The code will be prepared for OTA and Git, and I will include notes on current optimization and PCB design considerations. I can deliver this complete hardware/firmware package within 5-7 days.

I am a manufacturing and embedded-systems–focused industrial engineer with hands-on ESP32 prototyping experience, and I can take your project cleanly from unstable breadboard to a production-ready firmware baseline. I will first rebuild and validate the wiring: proper power distribution, I²C pull-ups for the MPU-6050, conditioned analog input for the stretch sensor, and a transistor-isolated motor driver with flyback protection so the ESP32 GPIO is never stressed. I’ll document this with a clear Fritzing-style schematic and a photographed final layout so you can reproduce it exactly. Once the hardware streams stable data, I will refactor the Arduino-IDE code into well-structured modules for sensor polling, posture logic, motor control, Wi-Fi/OTA, and low-power handling, fully commented and OTA-ready. I’ll also flag current-draw optimizations and PCB-ready improvements. Delivery includes a compiling Arduino IDE 2.x project, stable serial output validation, and a private Git repo with clean commits.
