A high level overview of the main features of ConApp are: Receive push notifications even if the application is not running in the background; Display the number of unread notifications on the ConApp icon; Upon receiving a push notification, tapping on the notification to open ConApp and display the “Notifications” page; When ConApp is opened, the number of unread notifications on the ConApp icon is removed/reset to zero; ConApp is to have a Home Screen displayed when opening the application from the icon; The Home Screen will have a number of icons, which when tapped, will display the page corresponding to the selection; From within the application, on the “Notifications” page, list previously received notifications in chronological order (last received at the top, oldest at the bottom); From the “Notifications” page, the user can clear any or all of the Notifications; A web-page will be used to send the push notifications. A high-level list of key features of the web-page are as follows: Accessible via any mainstream browsers; Consistent rendering independent of platform (mobile, tablet, desktop, laptop); Input box for the user to type the push notification to send; Validation on the content typed into the input box; A push button to execute sending of the push notification; Retrieval and interpretation of the response of the push notification request with result displayed to the user. Parse provides all of the required resources for both aspects of the ConApp project in regards to the push notifications – including frameworks for iOS and Android devices and the APIs required for sending push notifications from a web-page using either Javascript, PHP or REST.
