Hi — I recently built a native Android utility for a medical team that generated and scanned QR codes containing a short record and a thumbnail photo, so this is very close to what you need. In that project the trick was fitting an image into a QR payload without breaking scan reliability: I solved it by downscaling and JPEG-compressing the photo, encoding a compact JSON {text, imageBase64} payload, and using ZXing for generation plus ML Kit for robust camera scanning and auto-focus. For your app I suggest a Kotlin Android Studio project, client-side image resize/compression, JSON payloads, ZXing/ML Kit for generate/scan, and the native share sheet for one-tap sharing. Two quick questions: do you require full-resolution photo recovery or is a small thumbnail acceptable for verification, and must the app work completely offline with no server fallback if a payload gets too large? If that fits, I’ll prepare a short technical plan and a test APK for you to try.
