We use email server stack called mailcow-dockerized, which does not support swarm mode. Swarm mode is however available for some of the services in the the stack. This task is a study to understand what services of the mailcow stack can be clusterized (swarm) and how to implement that swarm and reasons for choosing this approach. Goal is to build a email server on top of docker swarm with maximized scalability and accessibility. Ideal situation is one infinitely scalable stack. Other apps can also be given a chance if required functionality is found. Note: outbound email sent via 3rd party (sendgrid)

Hi there. As a senior cloud manager, I have a good knowledge in k8s, docker swarm, docker compose and docker engine. Dockerization and container orchestration are my daily working. The mailcow-dockerized repository involves the docker-compose now, as you know. Docker compose only runs the app on one server simply, while the swarm runs the app on several servers. Therefore, the swarm mode provides HA and fault tolerance. The docker compose is proper for the development and test only. I can recommend you the k8s. K8s is much powerful for the container orchestration than the swarm cluster. You mentioned about "maximized scalability and accessibility", and so you can adopt k8s. But from my experience, the k8s management requires the professinalism and it is much complex than the swarm cluster management. Anyway, let's discuss more.
