About the Role: I am seeking a reliable, detail-oriented, and trustworthy Virtual Assistant (VA) to support me with various professional tasks on a long-term basis. This role involves a mix of creative, administrative, and networking responsibilities. While we will start with a few core tasks, the goal is to gradually expand the scope of work as we build a strong working relationship. Key Responsibilities: Presentation Creation: Design and create excellent, professional PowerPoint presentations. Social Media Content: Develop engaging content for my social media profiles (primarily professional networks like LinkedIn). Social Media Management: Manage social media accounts, including liking relevant posts, writing thoughtful comments, and engaging with connections. Network Growth: Actively work to expand my professional network by identifying and initiating connections with relevant individuals. Build and nurture these relationships over time. Contact Research: Gather relevant, publicly available information about key contacts (e.g., birthdays, hobbies, professional achievements) to help personalize communication and strengthen relationships. Research: Conduct research on a diverse range of topics as needed. Planning & Organization: Assist with various planning and organizational tasks. Other administrative tasks as required. Workload: We will start with approximately 2-4 hours per week. Based on your performance and growing needs, this can increase significantly, potentially up to 10+ hours per week. There is strong potential for long-term collaboration and possibly referrals to others in my network who require similar services. What You Should Bring: Capability: The ability to effectively perform at least half of the listed responsibilities. Trustworthiness: Discretion and reliability are paramount. Conscientiousness: A strong sense of duty and responsibility. Cultural Interest: Genuine interest in German/European culture. AI Proficiency: Comfortable using or willing to learn AI tools to enhance productivity. What You DON'T Need: Constant Flexibility: Availability during pre-agreed, potentially fixed hours is sufficient. You don't need to be available 24/7. Extensive Prior Experience: While relevant skills are important, years of specific VA experience are not mandatory. We value potential and a willingness to learn. Collaboration: Communication: We will primarily communicate via a standard messaging app. Compensation: You will be paid for all tracked work hours. Time Off: You can take time off as needed, provided you give reasonable advance notice for planning purposes. Task Management: For specific, non-routine tasks, we will use a project management board (e.g., Trello, Jira, or similar). Time Tracking: You will be responsible for tracking your own hours worked (e.g., using a simple spreadsheet like Excel). Application & Test Tasks: To help assess your skills and fit for this role, please complete the following test tasks and track the actual time required to complete them. Submit your work privately (e.g., via direct message on the platform or by sharing a Google Drive link). You can take your time. I will leave this post up for at least 48 hours before making a decision. Presentation: Create a short (2-3 slide) PowerPoint presentation explaining why you believe you are the best candidate for this Virtual Assistant role. This presentation should demonstrate your PowerPoint skills. Networking Strategy & Messaging (German): Explain your approach to connecting with a hypothetical 'Software Architect' at a major tech company via my social media accounts. The goal is to build a genuine connection that could potentially lead to them recommending me to their employer. Include a few example outreach/follow-up messages written in German. Contact Research: Gather publicly available information about 'Jan-Michel Lange' from Germany. Focus on details that could be useful for building a professional rapport (e.g., professional background, stated interests, recent activities, date of birth). Please do not post this information publicly; submit it privately. Social Media Engagement (German): Find a recent, relevant professional post on LinkedIn (e.g., related to industry trends, leadership, technology in Germany/Europe). Write a sample comment in German that you would post from my account in response. The goal is to add value, foster connection gradually, and maintain a consistent, professional tone for my profile, without expressing strong personal opinions (as you wouldn't know mine initially).
