We are a research university. We have developed a novel and patented new technology for measuring nitrogen in wastewater. We have successfully tested version 1.0 and are looking to develop a version 2.0 with fuller features and functionality. The system operates a series of small pumps to mix reagents and then measures gas and calculates parameter values, which are our output. We need to develop the control system, add telecom features, pump controls, run calculations, add a data logger, probe controls, and error checking and more. Our results need to be accessible via cellular modem or cable connection to local network or WIFI to a nearby cell phone. We need a user interface developed on a standard web browser.

I\'m a NYC based electrical engineer working in the US defense industry. I work daily with embedded systems hardware and firmware design. I have designed a system a few months ago with similar functionality to the one explained but dealing with air flow rather than liquid. As for the telecom network controls, to eliminate the need for a front end computer application, this can be implemented using SNMP protocol which would give full ability to read and write to the device through a generic SNMP manager tool. Other options are available as well but would require further discussion along with the other detailed parameters of the system. This is a fairly in depth design so about 4 weeks, possibly more would be required to fully develop hardware and firmware. Material costs would be separate but shouldn\'t cost much.
