- Cart set-up using MOFCart
I want to setup a service whereby I host people's MOFCart carts on my secure server.
There are three "modules" to this project:
1) Tracking script:
This would be portable and be able to run on my customer's website. It will dynamically change the product id of each product ordered according to the URL that the visitor came to the site through. Example: [url removed, login to view] or [url removed, login to view] (etc). In the case of [url removed, login to view], if a visitor entered the website through that URL, the number "1" would be inserted into the beginning of the product id for whatever product is ordered by their visitor. The tracking code can be anything really. If the visitor came to the site through [url removed, login to view] then it would insert "moonbug" to the front of each product ID when something is ordered. Whether this is done through cookies or whatever, I don't care. I just want to make sure no one gets through the system and isn't tracked properly.
As a trap, the script would need to ignore any directory that is typed in
where there is actually a folder with that name in the root directory. Example...if someone came to the site through [url removed, login to view], and there was an actual folder called "ads" it would NOT assign "ads" to the product code but would instead assign a default code of like "0". But if they came the the site through [url removed, login to view], then it would insert "moonbug" to the product ids of whatever is ordered by that visitor.
2) Cart:
The cart software I want to use for this service is MOFCart ([url removed, login to view]). Please DO NOT BID on this project if you're not absolutely positive you can work with this script. It is open source perl/cgi but I've had two developers quit on me saying they can't figure it out.
The actual product page would reside on my customer's website. When someone buys from them, the page sends the product to the cart I'm hosting for my customer. My customer's secure cart is hosted on my secure server so the buyer is taken to
[url removed, login to view] Type of credit cards accepted and whether they accept PayPal or not should somehow be selectable, either in the HTML of their cart page or some other place. (I would be the one to change it. I don't need separate login capability for each cart owner at this point.) Also, each cart setup would need to be able to accept [url removed, login to view] settings for that merchant to hookup live with their [url removed, login to view] account for payment processing. Also would need to be able to setup IPN PayPal capability for their cart.
Cart would send a receipt to customer as well. I'll need to be able to
change the text of each cart's receipt separately.
3) Order Download:
I'll need a webpage that cart owners can come to and download their orders. If you think it's best, they can just enter username/password and click "Download" and both tables would initiate download at the same time. They click "Save As" or whatever to save the customer table and then do the same for the order details table. Or, there can be two buttons to download each table individually. Whatever you think would be best. At some point, I'm going to want to build a login page where the cart owners can log in and change their paypal settings, payments accepted as well as their [url removed, login to view] settings and receipt text. But no need to do that on this version if it's a LOT more work.
The person getting this gig would be the ongoing goto person for upgrades as well as customization of each cart for my customers, when the request it.
