Create custom filters for bigcommerce website

We have a home appliances and electronics site built using bigcommerce and are looking to implement custom product filters in the various categories. For example:
- In dishwashers category, customers should be able to filter by brand, type, energy rating, no. place settings etc
- For TVs, customers should be able to filter by brand, screen size, type etc
We are already using the options module within bigcommerce for add-on products, so the new filters should not interfere with this.
We do not want to upgrade our existing bigcommerce plan or use the paid bigcommerce filters, we need them to be custom designed for our store.
We would like to commence work ASAP
