Database Upgrade

We currently have a database that holds over 500,000 documents and also videos that users can access via a web browser. This database is now over 3 years old and is not fit for purpose for searching for documents and files, so we would like the system to be upgraded. We have around 10 users that would need access via the online browser to conduct searches in English, French, Arabic language. Below is a list or our requirements: 1. Search engine upgrade for SQL database containing over 500 k documents 2. Existing search engine to be upgraded to search metadata associated with two datasets containing pictures and documents. 3. Re-write of the search module (SearchBlox for example) 4. Most of the search login within the app will be rewritten so that it can search in both datasets. This will include a new UI for the search form: 5. The form will have a single text field for search, by default. By searching using that it will search through all available fields in all datasets 6. The users will have the option to enable advanced search for different sets of data. For example, a user might want to search only through documents, or only through videos. Turning advanced search for videos ON will show a special form that will allow the user to search within fields specific to videos (e.g. video title) 7. A sorting function will be available with the options to sort by relevance or date 8. The search will support multiple search filters at once (using an AND connection). Example: a user will be able to search both on a document’s contents and date simultaneously to get a narrower result set 9. In addition to normal text search the users will be able to specify date ranges to restrict results. This will also include the option to search for data without any date set. 10. Tagging system 11. New feature to be added where users will be able to tag a document (add a ‘label’ to it), or page with a set of tags. These will then also be available in the search module. 12. For example: when viewing a document or page a user will have the option to enter new tags in a text field, or to remove any that have been added. 13. In the search form, there will be fields where a user can specify a set of tags to restrict results with. 14. Additional filter options on the audit table 15. Users will have the ability to filter actions logged in the audit module by team or user. There will also be an option to filter any logs there by box number. 16. Updates to document pages section 17. Implement feature so users have the ability to go to a specific page number instead of going through the Next/Prev buttons. 18. Implement ability to magnify documents to pick out features not easily viewed in normal window. 19. Reports module 20. Here different information about the system will be available. This module should include the following list of reports: 21. Number of pages changed - the users will be able to select a timeframe and it will display how many pages / page metadata were updated in that timeframe 22. User/team productivity - this report will display a list of averages (number pages changed), per day, week and month for a certain period 23. Pages without metadata - this report will list any pages that don’t have any metadata added
