Hello, I have an online store (OsCommerce) and would like to automate translations for product descriptions in MySQL database using Google Translate API. Our online store supports 5 languages, but many products have item description only in English or Finnish. You will need to write PHP script that will search which products have empty product description in some language in DB, and then using Google Translate API fetch translations from English to missing language and submit translation directly to DB. After the PHP script is done I will set cron to run it every night so any new products get translated to supported languages daily. Because there are numerous product descriptions the script should probably fetch translations one by one in some short of a queue. I will only respond to proposals by authors who have read my project description carefully :) Previous experience from using Google Translate API is bonus. Hello, I can get started on this as soon as this evening and should have it done Saturday at the latest (I doubt it will take that long however). To be completely honest with you, I have not used the translate API (I've never had a need to), but it's a fairly simple API and after flipping through the docs for it real quick I don't think I'll have any issues with it.
