I will upgrade your old magento to the new one in the series, which is 1.9. we cannot upgrade from series 1 magento to series 2, because they have alot of changes in the structure of database and you will need to migrate alot of data to the 2nd series. so upgrade to latest version in the series is the best option here. Hi, I have good experience in Magento 1.4.x to 1.9.x. I can upgrade your 1.4.x magento to 1.9.x. But there few things you need to keep in your mind. 1. If you have any 3rd party extension, then make sure all of them must have the 1.9.x compatible. 2. Your old theme of 1.4.x will not work anymore. Need to have a new theme. 3. I will work on my server for upgrade. Once done with your all existing sales and Customer data, then i will transfer that to your server. Total project will take maximum 7 man working days.
