I would like to update it to 1.7, but we have a fundamental problem, it must be said disable the default combination, I followed a tuturial

but I still have problems that I can not solve.
I set the new site on a test server (it is now under maintenance)
I have to solve these problems:
1) you must upload all the photos of the product without combinations
2) in products without combinations the add to cart button is disabled
3) if I take the link with a product with combinations I return selected in the select I have to select it again because it takes the value without combinations
This is exactly what I need, in version 1.6 of my site works thanks to a module not available in 1.7
