I want a site with a structure much like [url removed, login to view], or other sites where vendors bid for jobs, and clients are protected from dodgy vendors. Rather than for IT development like [url removed, login to view], the site is intended for individuals who have a substantial job that needs to be done on their automobile. Automobile repairs for specific, already diagnosed problems can run from hundreds to thousands of dollars. This is not intended primarily for people broken down by the side of the road because they don't likely know even what repair they want, although some people might want to use it in this way.
People are very concerned about being ripped off, or just taken advantage of. This site will allow them to post the job they need done which will then be emailed to all participating mechanics/garages in the area who will have a chance to bid for the job. Garages will be keen because it is free for them. They can't lose. Each day they get an email from people in their area who need work done. They can decide whether they are too busy to bid or not. So no cost for the garages. The credentials/experience of all the garages will be available for potential customers to peruse, as will there ratings history from other jobs.
The people who need repairs done will pay a fee, to be established if they decide to go with one of the LOCAL garages who bid to them on the job. Fee might be as little as $20. The specific name of the local garage with the good price and reputation would be kept from them until the point that they are ready to go with a particular garage. My feeling is that people would gladly pay this fee for the knowledge that they are being charged a fair price by a reputable dealer. Payment for the job would be handled directly between garage and client however the fee for putting them in touch would be paid to this site, lets call it [url removed, login to view] for now. IE at the time the client is ready to go with a particular garage they will pay say a $20 finders fee. Clients will rate garages and garages can rate clients much like ebay for example..
Here is an example of a site doing something similar in the USA. [url removed, login to view] This site however just gives people names of local repair shops they are pushing. Is not a true democratic site for vendors.
Developer must speak good English. PHP preferable.
