Hello, Your project requires a rigorous, physics-based modeling approach rather than a generic simulation. I can develop a transient reactor model that couples reaction kinetics, gas–solid mass transfer, heat generation/removal, and evolving material properties using MATLAB or Python, with Aspen, COMSOL, or ANSYS/OpenFOAM recommended for higher-fidelity validation and future CFD work. My approach begins with reviewing your experimental data under NDA, estimating kinetic and transport parameters, and building a calibrated transient model predicting temperature, pressure, gas uptake, and process progression. I'll perform sensitivity analyses, identify rate-limiting mechanisms (mass transfer, diffusion, mixing, heat removal, rheology changes), and calculate cooling duty, mixer torque, gas feed limits, vessel behavior, and preliminary scale-up parameters. The deliverables will include editable source code, governing equations, assumptions, calibration methodology, validation strategy, engineering calculations, and a roadmap for 3D CFD/CFD-DEM simulations. The model will be structured for future refinement as additional experimental data becomes available. I'd be happy to discuss your available datasets, target operating conditions, and recommend the most appropriate software stack before implementation.

Hi, I propose beginning with a staged 0D/1D transient model before committing to CFD. The first model would couple gas inventory, uptake kinetics, heat generation, vessel energy balances, jacket/coil heat transfer, pressure evolution, and changing material properties. Competing kinetic, film-transfer, pore-diffusion, and heat-removal hypotheses would be calibrated against experimental data using parameter estimation and uncertainty analysis. Python or MATLAB is suitable for the initial editable model, with Aspen or COMSOL added if phase equilibrium or coupled transport requires it. Sensitivity and identifiability studies will separate genuinely estimable parameters from assumptions and define the next experiments needed. Scale-up calculations will cover gas-feed limits, peak thermal duty, UA requirements, mixing power and torque, headspace response, processing time, and dimensionless similarity. The resulting regime map will determine whether detailed work should use CFD, multiphase CFD, CFD-DEM, or a reduced-order approach in Fluent, COMSOL, OpenFOAM, Rocky, or equivalent. Deliverables will document equations, calibration, assumptions, limitations, validation results, source files, and the 3D roadmap. Any exothermic safety, relief, or operating recommendation must also undergo formal process-hazard review and qualified engineering approval. Regards, Houssame

Hi, I know handling complex reactions and managing heat during processes can be tricky. Thinking about energy changes and mass transfer, it’s like juggling multiple things at once. I will set up simple models to predict how temperature and pressure change, making sure we catch rate-limiting steps like gas transfer or heat removal. Do you want the model to also factor in property shifts like viscosity during the reaction? Let’s chat about a plan so we can build something bigger, maybe even a detailed CFD simulation someday. Regards, Nick. I’ve seen your projects like the Labop Freelancer Marketplace, which also combines detailed data and modeling, and the Car Fleet Management demo, that shows good process planning. I also really like the Freetemp booking app for scalability ideas.

The proprietary material is key here, so the model needs to track its changing condition, not just assume it stays the same. I would build this using Python with NumPy and SciPy for the numerical integration of the differential equations governing temperature, pressure, and gas concentration. The material property changes will be handled as a state variable updated at each time step, affecting reaction kinetics and heat generation. Gas uptake will be modeled using a mass transfer coefficient, and heat generation will be linked to the reaction kinetics, which themselves will depend on the material's current condition and temperature. Heat removal will be a function of the vessel geometry and cooling system, which I will parameterize based on your provided operating information. I will pick a standard approach for kinetic modeling, likely an Arrhenius-type relationship modified to account for material degradation, and then iterate based on your data. I will assume the experimental data is sufficiently detailed to determine initial reaction rates and heat generation parameters; if it's not, we will need to discuss supplementing it. What is the expected time constant for the material property changes? Preferred Freelancer here, and I have not missed a deadline or gone over an agreed price yet. Send NDA for review.

Hello, I will deliver a transient gas solid process model capturing gas uptake into the material, transient heat generation and removal, evolving temperature pressure and composition, and preliminary scale up calculations. I developed and validated a COMSOL transient model for an exothermic gas solid reactor with peak temperature prediction within 7 percent of pilot data. Proposed methodology is a staged approach starting with a transient lumped zero dimensional to one dimensional coupled mass and energy balance model for calibration and sensitivity analysis, incorporating external mass transfer coefficients, internal diffusion with effective diffusivity, temperature dependent kinetics, and evolving material properties. For three dimensional work I recommend CFD DEM coupling using ANSYS Fluent with Rocky DEM or OpenFOAM with LIGGGHTS and Python or MATLAB for parameter estimation and automation. Required inputs include uptake and calorimetry data, particle size distribution and porosity, thermal properties, reactor geometry, mixing speeds and gas feed conditions. Estimated schedule four weeks and cost 500 USD. If you sign the NDA and share the existing data I will deliver within 72 hours a one page list of missing inputs, dominant rate limiting mechanisms, and a short feasibility summary at no charge. Hi, your project calls for a transient reactor model that ties together gas uptake, heat release, and changing material behavior over time. That is exactly the kind of coupled modeling problem I enjoy solving. I have worked on process and transport models in MATLAB and Python, including mass transfer, heat balances, parameter estimation, and sensitivity studies for reactive systems. I also have experience structuring models so they can be extended later into CFD or multiphase simulation. My approach would be to start with a defensible lumped or semi-distributed model, define governing equations and assumptions clearly, then calibrate the kinetics and transport terms against your experimental data. From there I would run operating-point and scale-up calculations, identify rate-limiting steps, and map a clean path to a 3D CFD or CFD-DEM study. If you'd like, I can outline the first modeling framework and data needs next. Best regards, Gabriel
