I have several internal applications that must exchange data smoothly with new cloud-based components, and I want these connections built with clean, well-tested code. Your job is to design and implement REST APIs in both Java and Python, wire them up to PostgreSQL for transactional storage, and index searchable content into OpenSearch so that each event is instantly discoverable. The core of the work is twofold. First, map and integrate the existing internal services with the cloud resources I will provide (IAM-secured endpoints, message queues, and object storage). Second, expose that integrated functionality through RESTful endpoints that follow standard HTTP semantics, are documented with OpenAPI/Swagger, and include unit and integration tests. When the work is complete I expect: • A Git repository containing modular, readable Java and Python services. • Docker-ready builds that spin up Postgres, OpenSearch, and the new services with minimal configuration. • An OpenAPI specification and a concise README showing how to hit each endpoint and observe data flowing through to both Postgres and OpenSearch. • Automated test suites that run via CI and prove the integrations hold. If you are comfortable juggling both languages, enjoy system integration, and know how to make REST APIs hum, let’s talk about timelines and milestones.
