My existing Revit plug-in runs correctly but its data-processing routines consume far too much memory and CPU, especially on large project files. I need the code profiled, refactored, and re-compiled so it runs leaner while remaining fully compatible with the most recent Revit release (and ideally future minor updates). Key focus • Performance: cut code and processor load during data processing; any gains in speed or responsiveness are welcome but secondary. • New releases: compatibility for new releases from Revit 2024 to 2027 Deliverables 1. Optimised source code with clear comments on every change. 2. Compiled plug-in installer (.msi or .addin + DLL) validated on the current Revit release. Please confirm prior experience with the Revit API, C#, and performance tuning so we can start right away.

Hi! This is something we can definitely take on. A couple of things I'd need before diving in: do you have profiling data already (something like dotMemory, PerfView, or even Visual Studio's built-in profiler), or is identifying the hotspots part of the work? And can you share the source code privately so we can take a look before committing to a scope and timeline — the effort here really depends on how the current code is structured. We'd approach this with C# profiling tools to pinpoint the memory and CPU hotspots, then refactor the data-processing logic accordingly — whether that means smarter collection handling, async patterns, or reducing unnecessary Revit API calls. Compatibility across 2024–2027 is straightforward to build in from the start. Happy to keep the conversation going here if you want to share more details. Gustavo & the DoTheCode team

Hello, I have worked on Revit API add-ins in C# where memory use, CPU load, and large model data processing needed careful profiling. I can review the current routines, including any C++ Programming dependencies, while keeping Revit 2024 to 2027 compatibility in mind. I will profile the plug-in, refactor the heavy processing paths, comment each change, and recompile a tested .addin plus DLL or MSI. If the add-in touches AutoCAD data or shared Autodesk workflows, I will keep those links safe during validation. Best regards, Teo

Hi. To optimize your Revit plug-in, I’ll profile the heavy data-processing paths, remove unnecessary allocations, reduce CPU hotspots, and refactor the code for cleaner execution on large models. I’ll keep the changes compatible with Revit 2024 through 2027 by using stable Revit API patterns, targeted conditional handling, and a clean build pipeline for the installer output. The result will be leaner processing, lower memory pressure, and a plugin that stays reliable on current and newer releases. As a Senior Software Engineer, I have mastered C#, Revit API, profiling, and performance tuning, and have strong experience in desktop add-ins, optimization refactors, and release-compatible builds. I work methodically with diagnostic profiling, code-level refactoring, and validation against real project files so the improvements hold up in production. I am sure I can deliver high-quality results within a short timeline for this scope. Let’s get in touch and discuss more. Thanks.

Hi, I can profile and optimize your existing Revit plug-in to reduce memory usage and CPU load while keeping it compatible with Revit 2024 through 2027. The best solution is to first review the current C# source code, Revit API calls, data-processing flow, large-model behavior, memory allocations, loops, collectors, transactions, and any slow LINQ/query patterns. I’ll then profile the bottlenecks, refactor the heavy routines, reduce unnecessary object creation, improve filtering logic, and rebuild the plug-in for validation. I’m comfortable with C#, Revit API, add-in development, .addin/DLL packaging, performance profiling, memory optimization, large BIM model handling, transaction management, filtered element collectors, API compatibility checks, and installer/build preparation. Deliverables will include: * Optimized source code * Comments explaining key changes * CPU and memory usage improvements * Bottleneck analysis notes * Revit 2024–2027 compatibility review * Recompiled DLL/add-in package * .addin file or MSI installer * Basic validation on current Revit release * Short handover notes I’ll focus on keeping the plug-in stable, lighter, and easier to maintain while preserving the existing functionality and improving performance on large Revit project files. Best regards Ankit

I have experience with C#, API development, and performance optimization, including analyzing existing codebases, identifying bottlenecks, and refactoring resource-heavy processes. I understand that Revit add-ins require careful handling of memory usage, transactions, element processing, and API limitations, especially when working with large project files. For your plugin, I will: Profile and optimize the Revit plugin code to identify and reduce CPU, memory, and performance bottlenecks. Refactor inefficient data-processing routines while maintaining existing functionality and improving responsiveness. Ensure compatibility with Revit 2024–2027, recompile, and validate the optimized plugin build. Deliver clean documented source code and a tested deployment package (.msi or .addin + DLL). Quick question: Are you experienced with Revit API best practices such as transactions, element filtering, and memory management? Regards, Shawana.

Hello, After reviewing your requirements, I understand you need to optimize an existing Revit plug-in by reducing memory and CPU usage while maintaining compatibility with Revit 2024–2027 releases. I have experience with C#, API development, software optimization, and performance tuning. The main challenge in this project is identifying inefficient data-processing routines, memory-heavy operations, and unnecessary processing overhead without affecting the existing plug-in functionality. My approach would be to profile the current codebase, analyze bottlenecks, refactor critical routines, optimize resource handling, and recompile a validated installer (.msi or .addin + DLL) with clear documentation of all improvements. I have a couple of quick questions: • Is the plug-in built with the latest Revit API version, or does it currently target an older release? • Do you already have performance logs or large project files where the issue is most noticeable? I would be glad to discuss further details and can start immediately. Best regards, Carlos.

Hello! Your Revit plugin needs its data-processing routines rewritten to eliminate excessive memory consumption while maintaining correct functionality. I've worked extensively with C#, C++, and C Programming to build and optimize software that interacts with complex desktop environments like Revit. My experience in Software Development includes profiling memory-intensive operations, refactoring data structures, and implementing efficient algorithms that reduce resource overhead without sacrificing accuracy. I've delivered Revit-related solutions where performance constraints were critical, so I understand the balance between functionality and resource management in plugin architecture. Here's how I'll address your memory issues: - Profile the plugin to identify which data-processing routines are consuming the most memory and why - Refactor those routines using optimized data structures, streaming techniques, and disposal patterns to cut memory usage - Test the updated plugin thoroughly to confirm it runs correctly with significantly reduced resource consumption Are your data-processing routines handling large model datasets in memory all at once, or is the issue tied to object retention and disposal patterns? I'm ready to start immediately and can share a detailed optimization plan after reviewing your plugin code. Let's discuss the specifics through Freelancer messages. Best regards, Jordan Rafael G.
