I have several Amazon AWS instances that I use. I get charged as long as the instance is in the "running" state. And I don't use these instances 24/7 obviously, I probably only use them about 10 hours a month.
But it's a hassle to login to my Amazon AWS console and start and then stop instances when I need to use them. I would love to have some kind of app or script that I could use to turn it on when I wanted to connect to it, and then stop the instance when I'm done.
Here's a python script that someone posted that will turn on and off AWS instances - [login to view URL]
I have a Linux webserver (CentOS) that stays running always. My idea would be to create a webpage that ties into this script (or another if you find a better one) and it shows all my instances and has an on or off button that I can press and it will execute that command.
