Hello. Though you have not specified the usage but I assume it is to check performance of the player. Typically for such applications, time resolution requirements is better than a millisecond. For measuring time with such precision, you must capture the images at very high frame rate, which the mobile phone my not be able to give even if you accept post-processing. For real-time detection and tracking, the best you can expect to get is about 10-12 frames per second, i.e., 100ms for a frame. It may not serve your purpose. Second, in human or motion detection, the bounding box will vary based on many factors including the body posture (hands spread/together, legs spread/together, slight bend, etc.) , which means that determining the exact time the person reached the cone would be ambiguous, and time measurement may not be perfect. The box here will be too big to assure the desired resolution. A frontal view will also cause ambiguities in finding which cone the person is at. I would rather suggest the following - an overhead, high frame-rate camera to capture the movement, use motion detection for head, and perform post-processing (could be immediately after each run) which may take a few seconds but will give lot more precise results.
