Hi there, that's a very interesting and exciting project! Modeling realistic(!) bristles are one of the most complex issues in 3D modeling. But I have experience with these and in regards of 3D printing it depends on the expected results. At least they'd have to have a special diameter to ensure they are printed correctly.
