Good day - If my bid sounds familiar - I also applied to the Afrikaans transcription project posted on Freelancer. Although my home language is Afrikaans, I am fully bilingual, and have a Master's degree in English. I have extensive experience in transcribing audio files, including court cases, disciplinary hearings, interviews conducted for post-graduate research, contracts, and more. I also participated in the Loft 2 AI training project, where I did transcription, proof reading, editing, and segmenting tasks. My main source of income is software development; I am an experienced software developer, but have a deep love for working with words. Afrikaans is my home language, and I can speak and understand it at an expert level both socially and professionally. I am fully bilingual with English being my second language. I also understand French well and can speak it to a limited extent. I have an academic background, and that in combination with my previous transcription work in the academic and legal fields especially taught me the importance of paying attention to detail and working in a structured way.
