I need an urban design toolkit for AlUla, targeting consultants and stakeholders. it needs to align with the mandate of other departments to ensure compliance with overall RCU vision. Please start the preparation of Urban Design Toolkit. This will serve as a practical handbook to guide planners and stakeholders by: • Establishing clear urban design principles and standards (zoning, density, streets, open spaces, etc.) • Providing analytical and visual tools to ensure consistency across projects • Embedding heritage, cultural, environmental, and community priorities into development decisions • Strengthening the public realm framework. • Supporting implementation in line with RCU’s long-term vision This can include a governance also between us (SSP) team and Public Realm Team. Key Focus Areas and what should be included in the toolkit and should be imbedded in the process as a mandate of Urban Design: - Controls for Urban Design, Urban Conservation and Public Realm 1. P&D is the sole authority responsible for the development, issuance, and periodic update of the urban design codes, guidelines, and standards. These documents shall govern the design and construction of all new buildings, renovations, public realm and open public spaces within AlUla County geographical boundaries. 2. All departments involved in urban development within AlUla must adhere to urban design policies issued by the P&D department. These policies define the aesthetic, spatial, and functional parameters of development projects and are mandatory for all planning, design, and construction activities. 3. No development project shall proceed without documented approval from P&D confirming alignment with the applicable urban design and conservation policies and guidelines. 4. All contractors must integrate these standards into their project designs and submit documentation demonstrating compliance as part of the project approval process. 5. Project approvals are contingent upon full adherence to the latest P&D issued codes and guidelines. Non-compliant submissions will be rejected or returned for revision. 6. All stakeholders involved in urban development, neighborhoods planning and implementation must obtain the P&D urban design advisory services. Including design consultations, project reviews, and formal recommendations. 7. Stakeholders must engage and obtain P&D approvals and endorsement at key urban design project’s milestones to ensure alignment with AlUla’s strategic vision and compliance with all relevant policies and codes. 8. All urban design proposals must demonstrate clear alignment with the approved strategic urban vision as approved by the board and approved. This includes adherence to spatial planning principles, cultural integration, sustainability goals, and community wellbeing. 9. P&D reserves the right to assess, approve, or reject any project based on its strategic alignment and contribution to the broader urban narrative of AlUla. 10. All stakeholders must engage P&D at defined project stages, including concept development, design review, and final approval. 11. Participation in P&D led coordination activities is mandatory. 12.
