We run a faceless YouTube channel that tells funny stories about famous money disasters — bubbles, scams, manias, and the strange ways people have blown their fortunes — all illustrated in a simple stick-figure cartoon style. We hand you a finished script and a finished voiceover. Your job is to turn that into a complete, edited episode: stickman visuals, short animated clips, sound design, and frame-accurate sync to the voice track. This isn't a one-off gig. We're starting at around 3 episodes a week and want to ramp up toward roughly one a day, so we're hiring an editor we can work with for the long haul. Read the whole brief before applying — there's a specific instruction at the end that tells us who actually did. The channel Topic: finance meets comedy. Every episode unpacks one bizarre or notorious financial story (our pilot covers the Beanie Babies bubble). Voice: playful and quick. There's a built-in joke partway through each script and a repeated sign-off line at the end. Orientation: widescreen, long-form — not Shorts. Length: each episode has to clear 8 minutes. We aim for 8:01 exactly, because that's the threshold for mid-roll ads. Landing that runtime is mandatory. Repeatability: the channel needs one consistent look. Whatever character style you lock in has to carry across every episode. Intros and outros are basically identical each time; only the story in the middle changes. What you get from us A script with time-codes baked in (sections like [0:00 – 0:20], [0:20 – 1:00]) plus pause markers. The voiceover, already produced (an AI clone of the host's own voice). Heads up: it's sometimes recorded in two passes, so there can be a faint tonal join — we'll point out where, and you'll bridge it with a sound effect so nobody notices. A pack of style references and a shared Google Drive with assets, sample clips, and a step-by-step look guide. A reference channel/video so you can see the pacing we're going for. Possibly, later on, voiceovers dubbed into other languages (Spanish, Hindi) to widen the audience. Not needed day one. What you hand back One finished, ready-to-upload file per episode (plus the project file if we ask). Spec Requirement- Runtime8:01 minimum. Resolution- 1920×1080 (1080p) Aspect ratio-16:9 widescreen Frame rate- 30 fps Format- MP4 (H.264) Audio- Final mix: voiceover + backing track + sound effects Watermarks- None — zero visible AI-tool logos (see below) Delivery- Via Google Drive / file transfer The look (this part matters most) Simple, hand-drawn stick-figure ("stickman") art. Clean lines, minimal detail. Keep it plain and light on color. Default to very simple imagery. The odd episode might warrant a little more color (the Beanie Babies one, say), but minimal is the house style. Lock the character design and keep it identical within and across episodes. Where the story needs it, draw recognizable real people as stickman caricatures in that same style — a stickman Warren Buffett, for instance. Move fast. Swap to a new image, or a tweak/add-on to the current one, about every half-second to one second. A slideshow that sits still while the voiceover talks won't cut it. Stretch your assets: a single image can be cropped or revealed in two or three stages to cover several beats. Lean animated. Blend stills with short animated stickman clips so the screen is almost always moving. Short clips We'll drop in brief AI-generated clips (from tools like Veo, Grok, Qwen, Google Flow/Vids, and similar) — about one or two short pieces a minute, a few seconds each, to vary the texture and hold attention. Some sections might feature a second character or a quick exchange. DEALBREAKER — no AI-tool logos or, watermarks in the final video. The Veo mark (bottom-right), the Grok mark (bottom), and anything like them have to be cropped or painted out. That little corner logo can't appear anywhere in the delivered file. A clip with a visible watermark gets the whole video bounced. If clean removal isn't something you can do, this role won't work out. Sound and mixing Sync first. The visuals have to track the timestamped voiceover tightly. Drop the backing track by about 17 dB and lift the voiceover by about 6 dB so the voice sits clearly on top. Use sound effects on transitions and between segments — they also double as cover for the spot where the voiceover was recorded in two parts. The mid-episode joke needs roughly a 2-second beat after it. We have a ~10-second clip with light laughter that can play quietly underneath as it lands (or you can rebuild that moment clean with effects). Ideally the laugh is soft in the background right as the punchline drops. If you need to stretch a section to hit runtime, slow it no more than ~5%. Past that the voice tone shifts noticeably (even 80% is obvious), so keep it subtle and pad with clips, effects, and pauses instead. How it flows We send the script, the voiceover, and the style references via Google Drive. You create the stickman images (or AI-generate them to match our references), animate them, cut in the short clips, sync to the voiceover, mix the audio (backing track plus effects), and render. Before building a full episode, send a short sample — one scene, around 20–30 seconds — so we can confirm the direction. Some tools burn real credits per minute, so getting it right up front saves everyone time and money. A round of revisions, then final delivery. We're happy to see a streamlined or semi-automated pipeline — for example, generating the image sequence straight from the timestamped voice notes. If you've got an efficient, repeatable system for producing these consistently, mention it; that counts for a lot given the pace we're targeting. Workload and what's ahead Out of the gate: roughly 3 episodes a week, with quality ahead of volume — we'd rather get the format right than rush. Then ramping toward daily once the look and the workflow are settled. We can also stockpile episodes ahead of schedule. Think of this as a long-term, ongoing arrangement with room to grow — more output, more languages, more channels down the line. What we're looking for in you Solid editing and motion/animation chops (After Effects, Premiere, DaVinci Resolve, CapCut, or comparable). Genuine fluency with AI image and video tools — and, crucially, the ability to clean up what they produce: stripping logos, holding character consistency, upscaling when needed. A feel for comic timing and snappy, retention-driven pacing. Dependability and turnaround fast enough for a near-daily schedule.
