I have two applications which need to run on the server but on different ports because I can't run more than one application on a single port. The https encryption usually uses port 443 to redirect requests from port 80 usually now I have to work out a way to get the server to serve both applications through the encryption but still on the different ports. I could have left the backend on an unsecured port but browsers in general have a CORS (cross origin site scripting) security measure in place which requires all applications making requests all applications making requests to an encrypted endpoint so using an unsecured port is no longer an option.
