Crumbling Battlements
This was another idea suggested by a metal friend of mine. His criteria was to paint a dark moody castle, and include some gargoyles. Because of the composition I went with, I chose to put the gargoyle in the foreground so it wouldn't be too small on the page. At the time of this painting, I was still playing Dark Souls II, so I knew the castle had to be crumbling and overgrown with vegetation.
