Scavenger
The idea for this painting came together pretty quickly without any real planning. I was looking at photos for inspiration, and came across an interesting picture of a small structure overlooking a valley. I added the man in the foreground based on some line art I drew a while back. The ghillie suit he's wearing is just a cool outfit that I thought would make for a fun design. As I worked on the painting, I came up with the idea of the man being a lone scavenger; he sits on a rock outcrop and surveys an abandoned facility. I owe Feng Zhu a big thanks for the technique I used to create this painting. I started with a slight photobash to establish values and composition, and then painted over top. His youtube videos are really awesome helpful if you're looking for intermediate/advanced tutorials.

[[login to view URL]] I'm a digital illustrator based in Ottawa Canada. My expertise is in painting cover art, t-shirt designs, or other promotional art for bands and authors. If you're interested in hiring me for commissions, this is what I can offer you: - I work quickly and efficiently. This means you get to see quick results, and I'm excited about every painting. - I can paint anything you can think of. My training is based on fundamental painting theories and techniques, meaning I can paint purely from your imagination if needed. I like to play around with all kinds of environments, angles and subject matter. In other words, if you can think of it, I can paint it. - I'm skilled in a range of digital art techniques. I can change my style from photo-realism to a more painterly approach based on your needs. I'm self-taught in both digital matte painting techniques (the strong use of photographic images), as well as a more traditional painterly approach, but I still maintain my consistent style regardless of which of these options you prefer. - I'm really knowledgeable about the genres I paint. I'm a fan and collector first and foremost. If there's an artist, style, or franchise that a client is inspired by, I'm probably familiar with it. This means that I can easily help clients develop their inspirations and ideas into full-fledged paintings.
