Über Mich
Due to my early multicultural education I consider myself to have become an intellectually eager student and professional, willing to explore a wide range of subjects and realities, both professionally and personally. This has led me to a very versatile professional career in response to my most varied interests, in fields such as architecture, heritage conservation, university education related lecturing activities, graphic design, ephemeral design, etc... Consequently, the tasks I have carried out throughout these past years as a professional architect cover a wide range of duties in the field of Architecture and engineering: Architectural design, urban planning, info graphical tasks, construction details, construction and structural surveying of existing buildings, testing of construction materials, analysis of construction materials and of structural and construction conditions of existing buildings, structural calculations, adaptation of existing buildings to present legal regulations, budget control, specialist reports on present condition of existing buildings, punctual urban development planning projects, supervision of execution of works, or equipment dimensioning, among others. Furthermore, my work experience in the field of education has been ideal to improve my communication skills and to learn how to efficiently research, record and organize data on any subject, ranking and interpreting it and converting it into synthesized ideas and knowledge and finding proper ways for its communication and sharing, a point I feel enthusiastic about. I have always tried my work experience to be multifaceted and my professional abilities to become increasingly complex and coherent. Being a person focused on both scientific and technological development and philosophy, history, theory, art, social sciences, politics and the humanities, I think to have become able to analyse complex problems and summarize and schematise them, turning conflicts into rationalized, ranked items to work on and to properly link problems and working contexts to non-obvious theoretical, scientific and cultural concepts and schemes. Nowadays, my contributions and points of view to the tasks I am involved in seem to be appreciated as original, efficient and accurate by my peers, supervisors or thesis advisors. Having never stopped to study, I have been forced to adopt an heterodox career profile which has led me to face many different work situations and allowed me to learn to work alone depending on own initiative, organization and abilities due to my experience as a self-employed professional architect but also to work under supervision as a contracted architect or within a team to achieve a common goal. While I normally feel most comfortable working within scheduled conditions and a good timing and task organization, I have learnt to rapidly take decisions under unforeseen circumstances and to contextualyse, analyse, understand and deal with diverse working contexts and adapt work process and aims to them, which turns into flexibility and adaptability in an aim-oriented, pragmatic working style. Culturally open-minded due to my multilingual tricultural background, I think to held high interest in knowledge on other cultural realities and to have a true anthropological will to understand other cultural, social, political, local and environmental realities in order to adapt the building, work and design process to them. My acquaintances often describe me as a persevering, effort and overcoming oriented character, and I feel myself comfortable working with self-improving challenges. I also think to have a will to get to the core of matters in order to achieve solid basis to optimise future actions and like to consolidate, carry on and improve inherited achievements, holding a sense of responsibility and solid but tolerant, effort uniting, understanding achieving ethical convictions and feeling a personal commitment to public service and human solidarity. I consider myself as somebody who enthusiastically involves himself in any project that can be considered of his own as well as common public interest, two aspects which I try to link and mutually foster any time it is possible in my professional and personal life.
