Kurzbeschreibung des Wettbewerbs

I am looking for a talented illustrator to create a book cover illustration titled "الانسان" (Human) in a realistic style. The ideal candidate will have experience in realistic illustration and be able to bring the concept to life.

Color Preferences and Themes:
- While I have a general idea for the color scheme and theme, I am open to suggestions from the artist.

Specific Elements and Symbols:
- There are specific elements and symbols that need to be included in the illustration.

Overall, I am looking for an artist who can translate my general idea into a visually captivating book cover illustration. Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate are essential for this project.

The illustration should be about the concept of the book. Which surrounds concepts of the quranic concepts of the following:

أَلَمْ تَرَوْا۟ أَنَّ ٱللَّهَ سَخَّرَ لَكُم مَّا فِى ٱلسَّمَـٰوَٰتِ وَمَا فِى ٱلْأَرْضِ وَأَسْبَغَ عَلَيْكُمْ نِعَمَهُۥ ظَـٰهِرَةًۭ وَبَاطِنَةًۭ ۗ وَمِنَ ٱلنَّاسِ مَن يُجَـٰدِلُ فِى ٱللَّهِ بِغَيْرِ عِلْمٍۢ وَلَا هُدًۭى وَلَا كِتَـٰبٍۢ مُّنِيرٍۢ (سورة لقمان: 20)


"Have you not seen that Allah has subjected for you whatever is in the heavens and whatever is on the earth, and has lavished His favours upon you, both seen and unseen? ˹Still˺ there are some who dispute about Allah without knowledge, or guidance, or an enlightening scripture." Surah Luqman - Ayah 20

“Indeed, We (God) offered the Trust to the heavens and the earth and the mountains, and they declined to bear it and feared it; but man [undertook to] bear it. Indeed, he was unjust and ignorant. (Qur’an 33:72)

In Arabic the word for earthling is Khalifa (خلِيفةً) pronounced kha-leaf-ah. This is a magnificent word with multiple meanings like deputy, guardian, ‘friend of Earth’ and viceroy, although it all boils down to Stewardship. Human beings are the most intelligent beings on earth so it makes sense that we have the responsibility to care for our planet, to give it a hug and a health check now and again .

“And it is He (God) who has made you successors (khala’ifa) upon the earth and has raised some of you above others in degrees [of rank] that He may try you through what He has given you. Indeed, your Lord is swift in penalty; but indeed, He is Forgiving and Merciful.” (Qur’an 6:165).

Notes
Interestingly, this idea of humans being ‘successors’ or stewards resonates in the Bible, particularly in Exodus and Corinthians. In the well-known Genesis verses the earliest humans alive are taught to sow and reap from the fields, in order to understand the functionality of earth and be in awe of its beauty. The Torah too instructs its followers with a job description similar to a noble janitor.

Muslims are supposed to hold this responsibility deeply. We are not the masters but we have been given a short-term trust. Anyone who creates corruption and pollution abuses their power and has violated this trust. Such a person fails as a Human and needs to earn the title back.

The creative direction is open but we are considering The earth in space. On top of the earth is a king sitting on a royal throne. The kings hands are open, and in between them is a cloud of trees, fire, water, animals. The idea is everything is in the humans hand on this earth and they can make decisions on a lot of things on this earth. The style is Ethereal, whimsical, surreal, ultra-realistic. Open to interpretation or off this particular detailed visual.

    الفكرة الواردة عن غلاف الكتاب بوجود انسان فوق الارض فى الفضاء والمدخلات التى أراها تجعل من يرى الكتاب يظن أن هذا تجسيد للإله وليس للانسان وبالتالى لن يشترى أحد الكتاب لأنه ببساطة هذا مخالف للتعاليم الأسلامية . (( لَيْسَ كَمِثْلِهِ شَيْءٌ وَهُوَ السَّمِيعُ الْبَصِير )).
    وجميع المتسابقون بذهبون بهذا الاتجاه .
    A simple comment on the description of the book cover idea:
    The idea contained in the cover of the book that there is a human being above the Earth in space and the entries that I see make anyone who sees the book think that this is an embodiment of God and not of man, and therefore no one will buy the book because this is simply against Islamic teachings. ((There is nothing like Him, and He is the All-Hearing, the All-Seeing)).
    And all the contestants are going in this direction.

      Yes, it is true. I am a Muslim. In the Qur’an, there is nothing like Him. There is nothing like Him. He does not resemble any of His creatures. It is wrong to design the image of man on Earth. This is contrary to the Islamic religion.
