I love the font used in the title, the beckoning statue is really nice. There is no staff in the story but the main character does some woodwork so maybe a small knife would be more suitable if you wanted to include a weapon. The only thing I dislike in the monster which is very king kong / yeti in appearance I can see that he is faded out, so maybe something faded with emphasis on the eyes and claws on the hands to make a little more sinister and shapeless so its not easy to identify?
