Kurzbeschreibung des Wettbewerbs

I am in need of a cover for a historical fiction book.

The story is about two sets of siblings from two different families who travel to America during 1845 and settled in Maine and follow their lives in America from 1845-1859. The one set is twins whose parents died in the crossing from Ireland and end up being adopted by a young couple who were also traveling to America. The other set is from an aristocratic Hungarian family who fled the Austro-Hungarian Empire after their revolutionary grandfather and his household were assassinated by agents of the Emperor.

Depending on how successful this book will be (it’ll be self-published but I’ve had a bit of success with self publishing), it’ll be the first of 7 books that follows these four characters from their arrival to America to the end of 1865, which each book after this one set during a single year. So book 2 is in 1860, book 3 is in 1861 and so forth. Each cover for each succeeding book will be fashioned after the style of the cover that is made for this book.

What I am looking for:

The style is up to the person. You can decide to use paintings from the time period, photos of re-enactments or so forth. Or you can draw your own image. The style is up to you.

The title of the book is “European Unionists 1: A Leap in the Dark by Adam O. Harmon”. Format and font is up to you.

If you decide to make the characters a focus of the image, these are the following descriptions of the characters (based of their ages near the end of the book)

Siblings #1: The twins are 17 by the end of the book. One is a petite girl of roughly 5 foot 5 inches, soft blue eyed, blonde hair. The brother is 5 foot 11, and his hair has turned black and curly (obviously they aren’t identical).They are farmers.

Siblings #2: The sister is 22, red hair, brown eyes, 5 foot 7 inches. The brother is 27, sandy colored hair, green eyes. They are still rich, and the brother is a Lieutenant of the United States Regular Army.

      There really isn't one protagonist, as all four have a lot of chapters dedicated to each person. But the two main ones are the boy of the twins and the girl in the other siblings.

      As for turning point, both sets of siblings have their own (they don't meet in this book). The twins would be when the stepmom dies and for the others, it's when she starts to learn medicine from a country doctor and her brother joins the United States Military Academy at West Point in 1850.
