Hi,
I'm looking for a programmer to customize / modify and add functionality to osdate. An open source dating script can be found at [login to view URL]
I'd like a home page that allows the visitor to select one of two options:
1. The dating service very similar to the Spirit Singles site ([login to view URL]), with, in addition, an area on each page for an image that we can provide in whatever file format you need.
2. A Flash area that will show a slide show of watercolor art, and similtaneously play music.
3. A database and shopping cart that will allow people to pay for our dating service by credit card and get immediate access to the features they want. We do have a former site that we no longer use based on a MIVA shopping cart and we have purchased the StoneEdge database. We're no longer using either. I'm told that these are both more sophisticated and complicated than we need for our dating site. Our current site is Cold Fusion with an AbleCommerce shopping cart and Mail Order Manager database. I'm thinking that that one is way to sophisticated for what we need here. In addition, we'd rather not work on this new project with that developer, who is also the current host of the site.
I'm not sure what server server it will be located on. If you need to know this before bidding, please advise.
I'm an artist. My familiarity with the technology or terms is very limited. I'm not sure if you can ask me questions on this site to clarify, but if you can, I'm happy to try.
Requirement
(1)A previous poster on this site required that the programmer be familiar with Smarty template engine. I've looked up that software and think it would help.
(2)We'd like the home page to have a means of detecting whether or not the visitor is Flash enabled, and if they are not, provide a message that will show them how to obtain the required download.
(3)You must be the developer NOT the middle man.

Although we are not aware of the technology underlying our current website or this new planned one, we're quite successful on the web and constantly are involved in projects to improve the searchability, appearance and functionality of our site(s).
