Kerberos (repost)

Investigate the Kerberos protocol and how it works.

You may create your own Kerberos software or install and test run one chosen Kerberos server software (you can obtain open-source Kerberos server software from several sources on the internet). You may use any platform. Please be sure to credit your source.

1. Identify, install and test run a Kerberos software of your choice (You have the freedom to choose to use existing available ones or you may also choose to develop your own Kerberos software).

2. Prepare a User Manual to demonstrate how to install and apply Authentication using your chosen Kerberos software for a single realm and multiple realms. Include samples of your test plan, your tickets and screenshots of your test run, client-server processes and client/server logs.

3. Your test run should include login accounts and authentication logs for each member of your group. Please use your student ID as your login ID. Please include screenshots and contents of log files for all your transactions.

4. Your test run should also include invalid logins for someone with the wrong ID and/or wrong password. Please show how Kerberos blocks an unauthenticated user and what happens when an invalid user logs in. Please include screenshots and contents of log files for all your transactions.
