1- The earth hour has been celebrated on Saturday March 19, 2016, during which the

lights were switched off in the whole world for one hour (8:30-9:30pm). Determine, or

find out, how much electricity (in MWh or GWh) has been saved globally due to this

initiative.

2- On Saturday March 26, at midnight, the time has been shifted by one hour forward to

start the summer time in Lebanon. Considering the electricity tariff in Lebanon to be

LL150/kWh, find how much savings in money will be achieved as a result of this time

shift. Calculations should be restricted only to the lighting in the residential sector of

Lebanon.
