Improvements to a Google Maps

I'm looking for an experienced programmer who can avoid the issue with Google Maps and page scrolling. Basically when I scroll down my homepage and reach the middle (where there's a google map) the page scrolling stops and the map starts zooming in.
I found several solutions like [login to view URL] and here [login to view URL] but am not sure which one will solve the issue. I'm not sure if maybe a solution will be to resize the map to be 99% of the width instead of 100%.
Second part is that my Google Map already looks similar to this one [login to view URL] but when I click on a circle it opens up a square box with information.
I want to change the square popup boxes on my map and use circles that expand and have the same effect as on this [login to view URL] site. I found this code [login to view URL] that could do the trick, maybe?
