Magento 2 Custom Plugin (Add Fee) VAT Calculation & Modifications To Website

We have a Magento 2 website that is virtually ready to launch, we have had a programmer install a modification to allow our customers to 'paint' the items that we sell. This plugin works, but the price calculation isnt correct - VAT isnt added correctly and detailed properly which is a requirement for us to be able to sell.
I appreciate that this is a project that may need to be removed and started from scratch - however I would prefer that the existing code job is debugged and fixed, unless you can prove to me otherwise that it is necessary to start again.
Alongside this there are a few small adjustments to the magento UI/UX that are required, adding buttons to AJAX cart and ensuring that the website is properly optimised.
Experience with Siteground hosting environment is preferred, as I will be able to add you as a collaborator on the website, giving you access.
