Produce accurate and comprehensive lists of the top ten (10) materials in five (5) temperature ranges that produce the most mechanical work via expansion, and provide the calculations for each. Mechanical work is defined as force times distance. Phase change is OK. This should not be confused with the coefficient of thermal expansion, information for which is readily available. The coefficient of thermal expansion is defined as the change in length per degree of temperature change. That provides the distance portion of the mechanical work equation; but does not consider the force. The temperature ranges are as follows; 20ºF - 40 ºF, 40 ºF - 60 ºF, 60 ºF - 80 ºF, 80 ºF - 100 ºF, 100 ºF - 120 ºF. All types of materials should be considered; solids, liquids, gasses, elements, compounds, mixtures, solutions, suspensions, colloids, metals, non-metals, plastics, polymers, alloys, ceramics, etc. From Jell-O to jasper. From granite to germanium. From carbon to concrete. Provide a list of the materials to be considered (the more the better). Submit fee with proposal.
