Schedule management for School Sports teams

I would like to have a web application designed that will be used by the coaches and the faculty of the school to enter in the games that their teams will be playing.? We have many teams at the school that need to use the gym.? There are girls and boys basketball teams for many age groups and there are boys and girls hockey teams for many age groups.? We are facing many difficulties in arranging our schedules not knowing what the other coaches have already planned.

## Deliverables

This is what I envision as a solution:

Login:? 2 feilds to login - Email address and password.? A "remember me" checkbox.? A forgot password link that emails the password to the user.

Dashboard:?

Coaches or Players Dashboard - They will have a dashboard that will show them the schedule on a calendar view.? It should show 1 month at a time with navigation forward and back to choose other months.? The default view will be for their own team.? They can change the view for any teams if they wish by checking of as many teams as they wish. There should be check boxes for home games, away games, and practices (if they want to see all then they can check off all boxes). Home games, away games, and practices should be noted using different colors.? If showing games for multiple teams it should be easy to tell which colors are for which teams. for example the 6th-8th grade hockey team might have white text on red background for home games and red text on white background for away games.? The basketball team may substitute red for black.... (just my suggestion, if you have a better way that is fine) The dashboard should also have a place where messages can be posted from a user to a single or many user(s).?

User management:? Create users with first name, last name, email, password, home number, work number, and mobile number.? Should also list what age group and sport that they are the coach of.? If they are not a coach (such as a principal or system admin) then they do not need to choose a team.? You should be able to see a user list and be able to email any user with a single click.? You should also be able to message any user with a single click.? There should be checkboxes next to each user in case you would like to either email or message many users at once.? The system admin should be able to disable a user.

Player management:? Create players with first name, last name, email, password, cell phone, grade, birthday, home phone, jersey #, jersey size, and emergency contact info can be entered.? Parents info section - name, cell phone, parents email address (multiple possible), also include a file uploader where we can upload completed medical docs for each player.? There should also be a medical docs yes/no checkbox for each player as part of their info.

There should be a way to print out a player roster with that info.

There should be a way that the players can have a limited login where they can login to see the schedule, including past game results and information on the schools that they are playing.? They should be able to also edit their own info.? I would think that at the beginning of each season the coaches would give out a username and password to each player and have them login to complete their profile.? The first time they login they should be prompted to change their password.

The player should be able to see the charge for a jersey defined by the coach (such as $20) and be able to click on a paypal button to make the payment.? The player should always be aware of the payment status as paid/unpaid.

This site does not need to reside on a secure server.

There should be a place that we can enter in the "Opposing Schools" information - School name, address, city, state, zip, school Phone number, coaches name (2), coaches phone number.? There should also be a google map directions link.

Schedule management:

Coaches (users) should be able to create new schedule entries.? They should be able to note the entries as either practice/home game/away game.? If there is a conflict they should be notified immediately via popup.? There also needs to block dates that are unavailable to all teams such as school closings.

Many times we will want to show the entire home schedule to the opposing coaches in order that they may schedule games with us.? They would also need to know the teams away schedule that they are trying to schedule a game against. For example - The Hillel Hockey Team (us) needs to schedule a home game vs team USA.? Team USA would need to see all of the games scheduled at Hillel plus the away games that the Hillel hockey team has scheduled.? Only then will they be able to choose a date to play the Hillel hockey team @ Hillel.? How would we do this?? Maybe an export file (excel) and then choose the opposing schools email address....

All coaches and system admins as well as players of the team involved should be emailed an alert should the team schedule entry be created/edited/deleted.

Game results - a coach should be able to update the schedule entry after the game to post the games result.

Reports:

Player list per team or entire school including selectable player info.

Opposing school info

User info

Schedule info - each team or entire school
