Please review the Power Point Presentation zipped in the

file "Integration [url removed, login to view]". This will give a better picture of the implementation project. Before that, I'm posting what I expect for this project.

We run a Web Store using the open source application osCommerce. Currently, all the products that are sold there (around 10,000) don't have a "friendly" description, by this I mean that they just have the description we take from our vendor's price list file. On the other hand, practically none of the products have a picture of it.

What we want to do here is to use the data files CNET will sell us and replace or add these three things in our website:

Short Description

Full Description

Picture

Our business is the hardware/software/accessories in the computer industry, these products change very fast and need to be updated very often, right now, the way we update the database weekly is: Download the updated price/description file from our vendor, process it to remove items that shouldn't be there, we insert the new products into the existing categories in our website (in the case they don't exist) and then we delete the existing database and upload the updated one using a tool called "Easy Populate" that is installed in our website where all the products and all the fields of the database are listed as an Excel sheet and is easier to be managed. I'm posting an example of this file we use here.

In this "[url removed, login to view]" file, you'll find an example of the list of products that we carry and all the available fields, right now we are just using the following fields:

v_products_model This includes the part number of the product, it is the reference of the product to be found.

v_products_name_3 This has the short description of the product, the one we use now is the one given by our vendor. This one is showed up when you click under a category and it lists all the products included in that category.

v_products_description_3 We are not using this one now, this one should have the full description of the product and it would be showed up when you click on a specific product.

v_products_image This field expects to have the filename of the picture of the product to show up its image when the user clicks on that product.

v_products_price Has the products price

v_manufacturers_name Has the name of the manufacturer

v_categories_name_1 Has the name of the first category

v_categories_name_2 Has the name of the subcategory listed under the first category

This is basically what we're expeting from this project.

The explanation of the attached files follow this lines.

1) Integration of Cnet Datasheets into a Customer platform (file [url removed, login to view])

This file presents you the different steps to follow in order your E-commerce platform can use CnetChannel datasheets.

As discussed, the communication between your platform and our platform will be done by ftp: you will download your datasheets via ftp from our platform.

When a customer has downloaded its datasheets, he gets .jpg files for the photos and .txt files for the information blocks which are defining the datasheet (marketing decription, main specifications, etc…). You can import then these datasheets on your own database server, you just need for that to create a database with the CnetChannel datamodel. The datamodel is on slide 10 of this file (the

datamodel is also in the file called [url removed, login to view]).

2) Creation of the database (file DataSource Scripts [url removed, login to view] )

This file contains the sql scripts for the database. These scripts are for Microsoft SQL server. If you are running another database server, no problem, just tell us the version and the name. We will send you the scripts for your environment.

3) Example of Datasheets (files Data Sample [url removed, login to view] and [url removed, login to view])

You can download 3000 datasheets and test them on your own environment from a given link, it's a 50 Mb file, let me know how to provide it.
