We are seeking development assistance from an experienced web application who is familiar with the latest web technologies and techniques for building today's class of web applications.
Because this is an internal project that we are developing for a marketing initiative and not as a product, we are out-sourcing the work. We have estimated 2-3 weeks of work to develop, test, revise, document, and deploy this application. We use our own source control system and would provide access to our process to ensure we can track and manage the project.
Because our organization works on mobile and desktop application design we did take a preliminary step forward in building a basic prototype UI shell with HTML and jQuery mobile and could also dial-in the basic CSS / layout elements.
What we are looking for is a bid for the following assuming it would take you three weeks as the upper limit. We can work with you on actual timeline and deliverable. A more detailed spec is only available under NDA.
**Developer Requirements-** We are looking for a developer who knows how to use the latest web standards like Jquery mobile, javascript and CSS and who is diligent and willing to take on a challenge of creating a immersive web experience that will work on the desktop as well as a mobile device. There will also be some on-going maitenence and enhancement work that we will want to negotiate after the project is completed.
## Deliverables
The best way to describe what we are building is a simple social tagging page, where a user can input a URL, input pre-defined attributes, along with tags for the particular URL. Once this URL is submitted it is available to other users with a search panel for narrowing down results. The user experience in the page should be 100% seamless without screen refresh so the use of AJAX / servlets, jquery, etc will be absolutely required. The goal is to have the entire application within a single template page.
Security- There is no login / profile management with this application. Instead we will want to implement the following measures:
**Control 1: Caphcha**- When someone submits a URL they need to fill out one of those captchas screens to make sure it is a real human making entries and not a spam bot.
**Control 2: ****Email & IP Address Capture**- we will force people to add their email when they submit articles, or when they flag a URL with a problem. In addition we want to capture the IP address in case if we need to block specific IP addresses. This way we have auditing abilities to track who submitted what.
**Control 3: ****Email Confirmation URL-** Before any URLs or flags are committed, we require the user to click on a link delivered to their email. This ensures people are using correct information that we email. It also allows us to verify that people are who they say they are.
** Control 4: Crowd Sourcing- **If the first three fail, crowd sourcing will prevent humans from posting content that is not in the best interest of the community site. All URLs will have a "report an issue" icon. When a user selects this it will popup a menu to select the issue with the link. The person will need to choose an option which will then flag the record in the database and send an email notification to our content administrator. Just like adding a new URL, someone who flags content will also get an email confirmation.
The only technology requirement for scripting language is NO .NET. We would like to run this on a lightweight web application server like Apache or Tomcat. We are open to the technology of your choice (PHP or JSP) and on the front end it is the usual suspects (HTML, Javascript, JQuery, CSS). You are free to use open source frameworks to save time.
