POS (Point of Sale) Improvements

Making enhancements and implement new feastures for our current POS software. Current architecture consists of following pieces:

POS Client: Windows based. Uses local MS-SQL to keep the transactions and send info to server in every 1 minute via WCF.

POS Server: WCF based server. Gets the sale data and activates POS Clients.

Web App: .Net 4.0 based web app. Let admin to manage everything and run reports. POS configuration changes are sent from web system.

We have a POS Client based of Windows. All the communication is done via WCF to server. The user makes a sale and the transaction is saved to the local database as well as sent to the server if the connection is available.

The administration is done via website. The admin makes the changes like adding new product, or adding new user, etc. The POS Client checks for updates in every 30 minutes and if the update Flag is set- then gets the chnages and updates the POS.

The POS also have ability to update itself with its libraries and files.

We are looking for adding new features for this system. Expertise with C# 4.0 , LINQ, MS-SQL 2008 R2 and WCF are required.
