Get variable from URL and save to file

Hello guys,
so I have a wordpress website hosted, and I need some kind of code to do the thing:
1 .Someone visits my website through link - [login to view URL]
2. variableA is saved to the file on my host.
3. User redirected to the website - [login to view URL]
**My thoughts: I am able to do a redirect through .htaccess with logic - if URL is = [login to view URL]*{anything} then redirect to [login to view URL]
But how to write the value of variable to the file using htaccess file?
Or is it a very bad practice to do so?
Should be a simple task for anyone who works on php or javascript. Please feel free to contact me for details.

Hi, Why not save it directly to a MySQL DB instead of saving it into a text file? It could be done using a combination of htaccess and php code.
