Poem for Financial Advisor

For the past 16-years, I've worked as a financial advisor serving families in the DC Metro area.
One of my greatest challenges is helping families embrace the importance of saving for retirement. I'm always looking for tools and new ways to explain this important concept.
I've got an idea for a poem as I'll explain below.
A short poem that tells the story about an old man that arrives at old age completely broke. He is very sad about being broke and the seriousness of his situation. He knows that since he is old, there is no going back to work to earn money.
In his sad state, he reflects and describes how during his younger years, he was very successful. He was a high income earner and always had money to pursue the life he wanted. He lived a really enjoyable life in his youth.
In the poem, the old man laments about his situation and describes how his wealth had been stolen from him. This thief treated him as a friend and was very nice to him, but while he was being so nice to him he ended up spending all of the old man's money.
The big reveal is at the end. It is revealed at the end is that the thief that stole all his wealth was in fact his younger self.
THE LESSON: By spending everything he earned during his younger years, he effectively stole from his future self. It's easy to steal from your future self in the moment. I'm looking for a great poet that can capture the feeling in that moment in retirement where the old man feels angry, sad and betrayed by his younger self. Almost like its a different person that actually robbed him, but the fact that he did it to himself so willingly makes it all the worse.
