Solution to find in Android or in WebService

We have a route which has points like Start Point , Point1, Point2, End Point

likewise we say St, Pt1,Pt2,End ----------> We have all these points Lat,Long

Any user who is using GPS We are getting his current Lat, Long

Our Purpose or Task: We want to know user is on the route? If he is on the route then how far he is from route if he is within 300 mt radius of route then we want to update his status 1 or 2 in database

Status 1 means on route, status 2 means away.

Now thing is that can we find all lat long between start and end points..so that we can find distance of user from each lat long and then we can compare of 300mt

Please advise which way is good in android or in API
