NOTE: Due to my availability at the moment, I'm only available for very small short-term projects.
I'm a software developer based in Melbourne, Australia. I'm currently working for a San Francisco-based tech company, but looking for freelance jobs to work on in my personal time.
I have extensive experience with software and website development, including tools such as PHP, Ruby (and Rails), Python, MySQL, PostgreSQL, MongoDB, Redis, HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript; CSS frameworks such as Sass, Compass, Bootstrap, and Zurb Foundation; and JavaScript libraries such as Prototype, jQuery, Backbone, and Angular. I've helped develop many e-commerce sites using Magento, and I've successfully completed Magento's Developer Plus Certification exam.
I'm also experienced in debugging and troubleshooting complex technical issues with these types of technologies. Improving performance for existing websites and applications is another area I've had extensive experience with, using profiling tools to understand and relieve performance bottlenecks.
Lately I've been improving my skills around testability, and ensuring that code I write is covered with automated tests. I've found this provides a lot of help when designing an application, but also provides reassurance when refactoring code to meet future additional requirements.
I attended RMIT University in Melbourne, where I completed my Bachelor of Science (Computer Science) and Bachelor of Engineering (Computer and Network Engineering). I'm passionate about tech, and I am always learning about new technologies and tools to get the job done more efficiently.
