When it was announced that TechFlow was going to be (have a booth) at Myriad 2017, a startup festival hosted by the Queensland Government at the Brisbane Powerhouse, the CEOs instantly told us to create a brochure/advertisement that looked amazing, whilst also sticking in peoples minds. So, we came up with this. A meticulously designed brochure with a dark background, but vivid gradient-coloured elements that really stuck in your brain. Each element is crucial in the promotion of TechFlow: notice how the lines of the shadow all lead up to the website, as well as each small shape harbouring around it as well. The typography flows beautifully with the image, and overall, is a piece of art.

A government-run social entrepreneurship competition brought us three ambitious young clients with a dream to bring employment opportunities to those living with ASD (Autism Spectrum Disorder). They required a full visual branding for their product, a job-seeking app. This also included the requirement of over 20 app interface designs, as well as a functioning prototype for the pitch date. Firstly, we were told that the company wanted a logo that incorporated nature in some way to represent growth. We did this by adapting the letterform "PP" (initials of the brand name) into the outline of two minimalistic leaves, with a green-purple gradient. The app designs required numerous revisions, and included a splash screen, as well as navigations throughout the app for both employers and job seekers. We were utterly thrilled when The Prospect Project made it into not only the selection stage, but later the semi finals, and eventually even the national finals of the competition!

Of course, whilst cultivating the social entrepreneurship aspect to the task, we worked to build a strong branding and visual identity for our company. We came up with a logo which and brand name which were the product of several design techniques, lots of creativity and several cans of Coke. The brand name, "Bewair" notified customers of the fact that they should "Be aware of their air." The brand logo, in terms of letterform, mimics the letter B, the first letter of the brand name. Look closer, however, and you'll see a house, complete with a chimmney. This was achieved due to the shape of the baseline is in a distinct, cube shape, and the stem of the letter resembles a chimmney, alongside the duotone palette.

A ten-week design project to redesign the user interface of the music production and mixing app, DJAY, in order to make it more appealing, as well as easier to use and navigate for the youth demographic. Done during a comprehensive attention to detail, meticulously employing a range of design techniques such as colour, letterform, shape and space in order to add to our skillset. The final designs won 1st place, out of around 50 contestants, along with the thorough design portfolio. The result was a tremendous achievement for us, and we've applied the skills we've learnt throughout our later projects.

Around March of 2017, we were approached by Modulus, an upcoming startup in the gaming scene. Their current logo, although complex and somewhat visually appealing, had no meaning and could be greatly improved. But instead of sticking with the original logo and slightly modifying it, we realised that we could add a whole lot more potential and value to the business if we started from scratch. Seeing how blown they were from our design talent, they also asked for business cards so that they could promote their company and their startup at Myriad 2017. And it got us this.

When TechFlow came to us, their current logo bared a dreadful style that was all too similar to us; some random futuristic typeface paired with a flat, in-your-face colour. The logo was as if they downloaded a font from DAFONT.COM, typed the name of their company into Photoshop, and called it a day. We vowed to change this. The end result is a meticulously crafted logo as a result from hours of research, drafting, and design. A red-pink gradient; although both colours are similar, when combined, it creates this powerful effect in really making the front element shine. The glyph is a paper-fold imitation, every pixel there for a reason; extensive marketing research into TechFlow target demographic. And finally, a font that gives a real "techie-futuristic" feel without being over the top, but instead nice and subtle. We love this logo, and we hope you do too.

Working at a company such as TechFlow really showed us how the startup business was run. We were able to build a network of connections, all due to the fact that when every entrepreneur were blown away by the visual identity of the company, they wanted to have us on board.

All across the world, millions of students watch TEDx videos for inspiration, knowledge, and so much more. And so when we were approached by TED to be a video editor and videographer for a bunch of their events around Australia, it was an offer that we couldn't reject. We would be exposed to an environment of just hustle; getting the framing of the shots right, running around the venues filming from different angles, and editing a flurry of videos to the highest standard.
