Kurzbeschreibung des Wettbewerbs
The illustration (see rough scribble attached) is of a queue of animals waiting in a coffee shop.
From left to right you’d have a cat, dog, tortoise and monkey (in that order - monkey closest to the till) in the queue. Feel free to make them look bored.
(1) with an ostrich/dodo working the till - think of a 'ditzy' looking bird
(2). Then there is a giraffe making coffees from one of those long Italian coffee machines with cups stacked upside down on top - he should be a bit stressed out
(3). There is also a red/maroon rope to mark the queue.
Hopefully thats evident from the scribbles! The rough animal sizing/positioning should be stuck to - please don't come up with a completely different design. No clipart please, I'm looking for something that has been illustrated by you!
From a cartoon/style perspective I quite like the Madagascar characters/style (http://www.cartoontreasure.com/madagascar-characters.html) but obviously in 2D, not 3d without complex shading. The style is by no means prescriptive but more an guide. The illustration will have two blocks of text (don't include these in your illustration) above it on the website so shouldn't be too tall vertically - aim for a 3:1 aspect ratio. The website design style is 'flat' so I'm really not after characters that look 3d!
The primary website dark background colour is #242c39 through to #3a414d and the company light colour is (#8c88ff). For context, The illustration will be within a lighter coloured box overlaid on the dark background. If it can be done with a transparent background then great, otherwise on white/close to white. I would also need the winning image in a vector format (SVG) so it can be scaled on multiple devices without loss of quality.
Please don't include the solid bar/buttons at the bottom of your image. It should only include the items described in this brief.

Thank you everyone for all your hard work - There are multiple images that could have won this and it really was a hard choice - my final three were between peshan, helber and cocier but in the end peshan's style was closest to what I was after for the site so chose him as the winner. The entries really were very impressive and its unfortunate only one person gets to win this but good luck to everyone for future contests.

As a slight incentive for the winner - there will almost certainly be follow on work to further utilise these same characters in a couple of infographics for the site. This isn't mandatory but the way #55 has given examples of how the characters can be shown individually was a great touch. I know this wasn't asked for but #54 has also shown great contextual awareness by adding their image to a mockup of the site. Excellent work!

Just some more general thoughts on all the great entries coming in. Try to make the characters not look too harsh/cross/scary - the animals in the queue should look bored, mildly agitated but don't make it look like they want to climb over the counter and beat up the Ostrich! It would also be quite good to incorporate some human clothing into your queuing animals - keep it minimalistic, #48 has done this well with the ostrich/giraffe and #35 #42 #53 have all incorporated human elements which is great. Think of a queue of people in a large city waiting for coffee in the morning, there will be a couple of different types of people there so use your imaginations!

Anyone up for tweaking their entries, it would be quite cool to have a longish chalkboard on the wall behind the queuing animals with drinks listed. Not mandatory but wouldnt mind seeing some of the top entries with this on.

So guidance for everyone - if you're looking to win this! The best images I've seen don't have complex shading/harsh outlines - i.e more of a flat style. There have also been some really good entries where the animals have been given human like characteristics - that's definitely scoring points. Some people also have ignored elements of the brief (type of animal, coffee machine style). I'm also not after very bright colours as I don't want the final image to dominate the page it's going to be contained in. Overall though great effort and I'll post any more guidance I can think of as the entries keep coming in.

no dark outlines and then use a secondary darker colour for some shadows. I think yours is almost there... maybe just get rid of the outlines?

Also, the animals should be more 'human like' - i.e showing human expressions which is why I used the Madagascar example. The animals in the queue could look bored, the ostrich should look ditzy and the giraffe should look stressed
