Kurzbeschreibung des Wettbewerbs

I need a book cover design for a manuscript I am in the process of editing.
It needs to be submitted in (at least) a high res jpeg file.

There are no ongoing royalties as I cannot guarantee the sales of the book so I must have exclusive copyrights to the image. As such I may ask you to prove the source of the photo/images you are using, especially if they contain people, to ensure that they have been purchased from a legitimate source of commercially free, uncopyright images (shutterstock, pixabay, etc) and have no copyright entitlements against them.

Anyone using images I find have been fraudulently picked up from elsewhere will be rejected and reported. I kid you not I have run contests where people tried to use a image from LOTR and claimed it to be their own design!

It must show the title: The Library of Souls
It must show my name as: K F Williams

The book is about a woman who becomes tapped in an old fortress in the mountains which has hundreds of stone statues within it by a creature made of ice and snow. I would like the cover to be about their final battle. It takes place in a cobbled courtyard which has fountain in the centre.

I have no images or set preconceived ideas about layout or fonts so anything is welcome and I will do my best to issue feedback on all entries.

Please do not send submissions on a book style layout, these styles make the covers appear very small and difficult to judge and entries will be rejected/ignored.

    Hello CH, pls ask all designer to put the source link of their images that used on the cover. That way you avoid to have difficulties with copyright. This is a basic rule in design and sign of respect for others work. Regards!

      I would like the cover to feature the cobblestone courtyard of a fortress / castle. It is in the mountains so I don't expect to see a cover design of meadows covered in flowers if you want to put in a background. In the fortress are statues of people, not skeletons or gargoyles. In the center of the courtyard there is a fountain. The main character is female, and if included should be fully dressed for winter weather, no design of a skimpily dressed woman will be considered. If you must include a weapon it should be a dagger / small knife. The creature is an elemental beast made of snow and ice, think claws, teeth and eyes in a winter storm.

    Can i use stocks that need to be purchased after the contest? Or just Free stocks?

    Can you specify the physicalm size of the book cover?And also, can I paint(digitally)?

      5 x 8 inches but the book will be released digitally so I just require a high res image. Please do paint digitally if you like
