We have a number of Chef scripts we need writing. This project is for writing one initial script for deployment of a PHP application ( [login to view URL] ) The script should include i) Use/Reuse of the standard Chef MariaDb, Apache cookbooks, Support the creation of a new virtual host for the service. ii) Deploy to Debian/Ubuntu ( any packages needed etc ) iii) the ability to configure the application skin ( eg Logo, header any titles/site setup ) iv) Configure the mail services as well. v) Prepare the Databases if not present. vi) Minor Documentation Recognise this is a simple service, we have a number of others to do, but this is to help get the process underway.

Hi There I understand that you need chef to deploy the PHP app. But I'd like to know if you want it to deploy it in AWS or a simple VPS/Dedicated server. Based on the environment it'll involve some boilerplated code. BTW I've been dealing with Chef/Puppet and AWS Cloud for the past 3 years.
